In 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) released the "Global Air Quality Guidelines", which pointed out that air pollution is one of the biggest environmental threats to human health, and estimated through data that air pollution causes at least 7 million premature deaths every year. Recently, Professor Yanbing Guo's research group from the School of Chemistry at Central China Normal University has made significant progress in the field of molecular oxygen activation for removing atmospheric pollutants. This achievement was published in the renowned academic journal "Journal of the American Chemical Society" in the field of chemistry.
The title of the paper is "Neighboring sp hybridized carbon participating molecular oxygen activation on the interface of sub nano cluster CuO/Graphdiyne" (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2022, 144, 4942-4951). Pan Chuanqi, a 2019 doctoral student, is the first author of the paper, and Professor Guo Yanbing is the sole corresponding author.
