First Prize of Natural Science Award

Award winning project: Structural design, regulation, and energy conversion mechanism of efficient and stable non precious metal catalytic materials

Achievement Introduction: Professor Yu Ying's team has achieved innovative research results in solving key scientific problems such as low activity, poor stability, and unclear catalytic reaction mechanisms of non precious metal catalysts used in the field of energy conversion. The team has been continuously supported by projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Hubei Provincial Natural Science Foundation Key Project. After 10 years of in-depth research, they have studied the reaction mechanism of non precious metal catalytic materials for efficient photocatalytic reduction of CO2 and constructed relevant high-performance catalysts; On this basis, efficient and stable non precious metal catalytic materials for electrolysis of water/seawater were designed and created; He has cited 1715 times for 5 representative papers published, with the highest citation count for a single paper being 859 times; It has received wide attention from academicians of the three American academies, the winner of the National Science Medal, Professor George M. Whitesides of Harvard University, as well as many academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Engineering, the European Academy of Sciences, the Australian Academy of Sciences and other peers, and has also been widely promoted and commented by well-known news media and websites at home and abroad.

Award winning project: Oxygen vacancy mediated bismuth oxychloride photocatalysis

Achievement Introduction: Professor Zhang Lizhi's team focuses on the oxygen vacancy regulation and performance enhancement of the new photocatalytic material bismuth oxychloride (BiOCl), and has taken the lead in conducting in-depth and systematic research internationally, sparking a wave of BiOCl photocatalytic research and achieving several innovative research results in solving the environmental pollution and energy shortage problems faced by humanity.


Award winning project: Quantitative analysis of bacterial growth regulation and environmental response mechanisms

Achievement Introduction: Professor Dai Xiongfeng's team uses quantitative and synthetic biology research methods to conduct quantitative analysis of bacterial growth regulation and environmental response. They systematically reveal the coupling mechanism between bacterial growth and gene expression, clarify the global strategy of bacteria as a sophisticated life system to respond to environmental changes, and provide original theoretical basis for future research on rational design of synthetic biology, the causes of bacterial resistance, and the development of new targeted strategies for pathogenic bacteria.

Award winning project: Key technologies and applications of industrial VOCs waste gas catalytic purification materials and intelligent equipment

Achievement Introduction: Professor Guo Yanbing's team has achieved significant breakthroughs in key technologies and applications of industrial VOCs waste gas catalytic purification materials and intelligent equipment through nearly 7 years of industry university research joint research and development; Pioneering the technology of "ordered micro/nano structure catalytic devices" to achieve achievement transformation, incubating one national high-tech enterprise; We have established the world's first large-scale production line for ordered micro/nano structured catalysts, and created low-energy and high-efficiency catalytic combustion equipment. The devices and equipment have been applied in more than 300 VOCs treatment projects in 16 provinces and cities across the country, with supporting waste gas projects worth over 1.75 billion yuan.


Third Prize of Natural Science Award

Award winning project: Research on near-infrared fluorescent probe and precise diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors

Achievement Introduction: Professor Sun Yao's team has developed a self-developed near-infrared fluorescence probe by cross integrating cutting-edge technologies such as fluorescence spectroscopy analysis, in vivo molecular imaging, and tumor photodynamic therapy. The probe has high sensitivity and specificity in illuminating and ablating malignant tumors at the in vivo level, achieving the transformation of malignant tumor diagnosis and treatment from traditional "visible" and "treatable" to "visible" and "cured", laying a solid foundation for interdisciplinary research in chemistry, biology, and medicine.
